“Flamboyance” is an encaustic and oil, painted on wood. Encaustics is a process where I melt wax (mixed with a medium) and layer the colors on top of each other, while fusing each layer with a hot gun. I then look at the design and see an image that I would like to paint on top of the wax.
I painted a flamboyance of flamingos, flying through the bright sunlit sky.
